This cross of Deep Chunk x Strawberry Cough is from Blue Sky. It's probably Deep Chunk from Tom Hill Seeds and Strawberry Cough from Kyle Kushman. Some say it's Deep Chunk crossed with Afgooey, but I doubt it. This is highly enjoyable smoke with a terrible bud structure. If you're looking for an exotic feel good happy strain this one might appeal to you.
This girl stays short, under 3 feet. She branches like an indica and has broad leaves that turn magenta, purple and gold later in flowering. The plant has good resin production and you'll note a lot of resin on the edges of the leaves.
Bud structure is whack! this will never be a commercial strain by any means. The calyx to leave ratio is just horrid. Buds come out small with more fan leaves than actual bud. So the yield is low, but this is a cannaseur (cannabis connoisseur) strain. It still has appealing aspects. Read on.
This is a tale of 2 buds. When you first harvest and dry this one it takes on a taste very much like Oaksterdam Goo or Afgoey. It's a very dank skunky taste that you've had before, but is very tastey. Later, as the buds cure properly a fruity and berry taste develops, not as strong as the Goo taste from an early bud. It's quite strange actually.
The smoke, okay the bud structure is light and airy yet the stone one receives from this smoke is excellent. It's some of the happiest and most social smoke you'll find. It will leave you giggleing at the most stupid stuff like the first time you got high.
I've grown this one about 5 runs. I've grown her in coco and soil. Under 400 HPS and 1000 HPS. She vegged for 4 weeks and then into the flower room each time. She is not picky on nutes, but I normally don't go over 1200 ppm at any time anyway. She is a real treat starting in week 7 of bloom she'll start turning colors and she gets as pretty as can be. Reds, golds and purple hues start to show up. The buds are light and airy and extremely resinous. The leaves which comprise a large part of the bud are resinous as well. Once again the bud structure and leave to calyx ratio take this one out for commercial concerns.
These shots come from a 1000 watt soil grow in organic with C02. It's about day 53 in these photos.
